The Danish Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Foundation is granted once a year to a person or a small group of persones (collaboration group) who have finiched or are finishing thier studies with exceptionally high quality.
The Honorary Scholarship is granted at the Danish Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Christmas event.
The Honorary Scholarship consist of a cash amount stipulated by the Danish Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Foundation and a diploma.
The below educational institutions may recommend candidates but recommendation may also be issued from other educational instituions providing the educations fall within the maritim techical area.

- The University of Southern Denmark, Odense,
- Svendborg International Maritime Academy SIMAC,
- Fredericia School of Marine and Technical Engineering,
- The Copenhagen School of Marine Engineering and Technology Management,
- Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering, and
- Aalborg University
When electing the recipient of the Honorary Scholarship the Danish Society of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Foundation will place importance on the following conditions:
The final assignment must be well executed and of high professional standard showing the technical foundation of the person(s).
The assignment must be innovative showing the student's resourcefulness coupled with the academic work.
It is appreciated if the assigment has a clear view of how results acchieved through the execution of a job will find practical application with the maritime sector.
Also, emphasis will be put on the student's potential involvement in professional organizational work or if he or she otherwise has made themselves eligible for honors in a ship technical context.
