New DSNAME Chairman

The Danish Society for Naval Architechture and Marine Engineering (DSNAME) has elected a new chairman. After 3½ years in office, Henrik O. Madsen has stepped down as chairman, and the board unanimously elected Jesper Aagesen as the new chairman at the board meeting on 28 April 2026.

Henrik O. Madsen joined the board in November 2022 as an impartial and independent member elected by the board. During his term, he has contributed with strong competencies within innovation, classification and climate issues related to the construction and operation of ships. Henrik O. Madsen was also chairman of the World Maritime Technology Congress until 2024. Although he is now stepping down as chairman, he will continue as a member of the board until the end of his term in 2028.

The new chairman of the foundation will be Jesper Aagesen, Director, Head of Sustainable Fleet Projects at DFDS A/S. Jesper Aagesen has been a member of the board since May 2019. He brings extensive experience in the design and operation of ships as well as energy optimization and sustainable solutions in the maritime sector.

The Danish Society for Naval Architechture and Marine Engineering works to promote maritime technology and innovation through the dissemination of knowledge and support for research and education. Among other things, the foundation provides support to students and researchers within maritime technology and contributes to the development of future maritime solutions.

The board looks forward to continuing the foundation's work under Jesper Aagesen's leadership with a focus on the green transition and technological development in the maritime industry.
